Maple-Soy Glazed Sablefish 


  • 2 fillets of wild-caught BC Sablefish
  • 1 cup tamari
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • salt and pepper


1. Portion the Sablefish fillets into four boneless and skinless pieces.

2. In a bowl, combine 1 cup tamari and 1 cup maple syrup.

3. Microplane 2 tsp of fresh ginger and 3 cloves of garlic and add it to the tamari and maple syrup. Add chilli flakes, salt, and pepper.

4. Marinate Sablefish portions in the tamari glaze for 30 minutes.

5. Add the marinated sablefish to a small to medium sized cast iron skillet. Add half of a cup of the glaze to the skillet.

6. Broil the Sablefish for 7 minutes.

This recipe is perfect on the top of coconut rice or a salad!
